Profile

I have had a very active life in the gundog scene. Until recently, 2013, I was the Chairman of the Bristol and West Working Gundog Society. This entails having a large part in running one of the largest gundog clubs in the country. I am proud to have been involved with the club since 1996, helping it promote the working of Gundogs in the role that they were intended.

I am also a trainer and assesor for the Gundog Club, regularly holding gundog training classes on their behalf, and I am pleased to say that a very high proportion of my students pass their grading.

I was thirteen years old when I owned my first Gundog, and shortly after that, I trained and worked it. My trialling debut was in 1996 at a Novice spaniel stake in Gloucester where I was awarded a Certificate of Merit. Over the following years I have won lots of awards in Novice and Open trials with spaniels that I have bred and trained.

In more recent years I have owned, trained and worked Labradors to a very high standard.

I shoot regularly at trials and it has also been an honour to have judged trials and tests on several occasions for various working gundog clubs.

The summer of 2010 has seen me giving demonstrations of gundog work to the general public.
